Paul John LaRosa, age 79 of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Born on March 14, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Alexandria and Paul LaRosa. He was the loving husband of Patricia LaRosa of Springdale, PA who he married on 2/02/1963, Ground Hod Day; cherished father of Jason LaRosa of Houston, TX and Nathan LaRosa of Upper St. Clair.
Paul received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1961 at the City College of New York. He was first in his engineering class, an AIC Medal winner and a Winner of Metropolitan NY Student Paper Contest. Paul worked his way through college at C. Pfizer starting at age 17 and thereafter won fellowship to Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1967. He worked for U.S. Steel, TRW and Burns and Roe, as a manager, in Energy Process Development and Environmental Remediation processes and techniques.
Paul enjoyed all forms of music, particularly Jazz, old movies because they were kinder and gentler, and the theatre, particularly musical comedies.
After living in several places in the U.S., Paul came back to Pittsburgh in 1985 and considered it to be the absolute best place to live and raise a family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Louise De Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH AT 9:45 AM. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following mass until 1:00 pm at Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317. (724) 260 5546. Everyone is welcome.
